New Youth Shelter Opens With Help From LifeWise

June 20, 2019

One of the ways LifeWise makes healthcare work better is by investing in the communities in Washington and Alaska.

Thanks to a $1.6 million donation from LifeWise, Cocoon House opened a new building with 40 beds for at-risk youth and young adults in Everett, Washington. In addition to this donation, more than 30 employee volunteers worked with Cocoon House staff to assemble furniture and get the space ready for its grand opening.

Cocoon House hosted a tour and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Colby Avenue location in April to show off the new facility and celebrate years of dedication serving homeless youth ages 12 to 24.

Cocoon House provides short- and long-term housing for homeless and at-risk young people, as well as onsite counseling, substance abuse treatment, medical care, independent living skills and education, a music studio, and employment services.
