Brennen’s Law

September 19, 2019

Washington State recently passed new legislation called Brennen’s Law (HB1099) effective January 1, 2020. The bill is intended to make it easier for patients to find the behavioral health and substance use disorder care they need. This bill requires health plans to post specific information about panel status of mental health and substance abuse providers. We’re also required to post resources online for members as well as information about any network adequacy complaints received against LifeWise.

Also beginning January 1, LifeWise will include information about Medication-Assisted Treatment providers and facilities in our Find Care site. We want to improve the ability of members to find MAT care when needed.

You’ll be receiving a survey shortly asking for information about your panel status, updates to your provider information, and to indicate if you or your facility provide Medication-Assisted Treatment. We ask that you return this important survey as quickly as possible so we can post to our member-facing provider directory.

- If you have questions, you can contact Provider Network Representative.
